The 2016 Team Volunteers at the Rosedale Ride
Last Saturday, March 28th, the 21st annual Rosedale Ride was held at the Samsung Center. People of all ages came out on the sunny Saturday morning to ride and support the Rosedale School.
Breakfast tacos and hot coffee were served to fuel the riders for their 60mile, 40 mile, or 20 mile rides. There was a gathering to honor Rosedale before the ride where the UT band played music and crowds cheered as the riders began their journey.
Upon registering, each rider received a special Rosedale tshirt and a picture of a specific kid who is a student at the school that they could ride for.
The weather was favorable for the outdoor barbecue lunch and festival held for the riders when they returned. More funds were raised for Rosedale by a raffle, a bike trick show, an arts & crafts station, and a Photo Booth.
We were able to help in the morning with registering the riders and then help in the afternoon with conducting the arts & crafts station of creating colorful sun catchers with the kids. The best part of the day was being able to spend time with some of the special needs children who attend Rosedale and see how happy they were to see all of the people there for them.
The afternoon ended with some live music from a local band, some silly dancing, and Amy’s ice cream.
It was truly an inspiration to see so many people come together to support such a worthy cause.
The teachers, principal, and staff of Rosedale hosting the event were touched and thankful for all the riders and volunteers who helped make the success of the day possible.
