Texas cyclists for cancer to stop in La Crosse
Gundersen Health System in La Crosse will host a welcoming event for 27 cyclists on an annual cancer fundraising ride from Texas to Anchorage, Alaska, at 7 p.m. today.
The event, with the time subject to change, will take place in the lower lobby of the Gundersen Legacy Building.
It will include comments from the cyclists, Mayor Tim Kabat and Gundersen representatives.
The cyclists, all of whom are University of Texas students, and members of the “A Bump in the Road” cancer support group also will discuss the Texas 4000 venture, billed as the “longest charity ride in the world.”
Its mission is to raise money, educate and bring hope to those with cancer. For more information, go to www.texas4000.org.
