About: Born and raised an Austinite, I am a hippie child through and through. I grew up going on adventures and exploring and creating beautiful things. And now I have found that this is all I want to do with my time.

Through Texas 4000 for Cancer I aspire to bring gratitude for the beauty of life into each person our message reaches – inspiring HOPE to keep strong in our fight against cancer.

Why I Ride

I ride for the message that our bodies and minds are powerful vessels for change.

I ride for Kathy Saqer. My beautiful aunt, my mother’s twin, who despite never having smoked a day in her life, was diagnosed with lung cancer, brain cancer, and bone cancer in the early summer of 2014. I have watched your growth through this challenge, and it has left me in surprise to say the least. I am happy to say that your approach has been brave and somewhat comical. You are more of a badass than I would have ever imagined, and I love it.

I ride for my Tati. My feisty Cuban grandmother. You are the strongest woman I ever knew. Hearing your words, “Arin, I have never been so scared in my life” still feels like a dream to me. You taught me so much while you were alive and fighting, but I know I will still be learning from you forever. I love you and as you would say... "I love you more." I connected with you in a unique way as your brown-eyed girl and you hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for all you gave to me.

Lastly, I ride for my tribe. And by that I mean my family, but I also mean my expanded family. - My mother. My father. My cousins. My grandmother's huge circle of friends. My high school best friend's mother. My college best friend's mother. I ride for the stranger who told me her story. I ride for my teammates and their loved ones. I ride for all of us. - Stay strong. Realize how incredible the human body is, but be humbled by how fleeting life can be. Slow down. Enjoy every detail. I love you all.
