My name is Xiaoyin Li also as known as Shelly. I came from China 5 years ago. I got my master degree from University of Cincinnati, and I am now pursuing PhD in Health Education at UT. I love outdoor sports and national parks here in the United States. For the past 5 years, I’ve been travelling to more than 30 states of America hiking, camping and exploring the great nature. I always hope I could do something wonderful and meaningful in my life.

Why I Ride

I ride for my uncle and my grandpa. My grandpa died from cancer when I was a 12. Before he died, I hadn’t thought about losing someone I loved because of such a horrible illness. From that moment, I decided to do anything I could to help people fight with cancer.
My uncle is the most positive and inspiring person I knew in my life. He is well educated, has great personality, a wonderful job, a beautiful wife, a smart son, loving family and he is fighting with stomach cancer right now. I talked to him right after his first chemo last winter. He is following the process of the treatment and I hope he could know that we all root for him.
