by Lorig Hawkins Jun 08, 2004 Tonight we house in Oklahoma City, OK. We are staying at Oklahoma CIty University in the Smith dormatory. The guys we are putting us up John and Jonathon are really cool guys, very helpful, and have put up with a lot of stuff. The day actually was really nice. We departed the Family Life Center and went over to some friends of Andy Dare to have breakfast. These people were awesome. They cooked us breakfast tacos and tons of fruit, yogurt, and homemade salsa. We then concluded the morning with some karoke. I believe we found some people's hidden talents, and I am very impressed that Paul knew all the backup cues to the song "What I Like About You". After stuffing our faces we took off on our easy 22 miles with a crazy tailwind that carried most of us there averaging around 30mph. It was pretty cool. When we arrived we had no time to relax because we had to head over to Sun and Ski Sports where we were supposed to appear on the news. When that was through we went over to the capital where we got a special tour, met a senator, and the governor's assitant. The capital is pretty cool. It had a bunch of paintings and lots of statues. Finally we were finished with all of our activities for the day and we were able to return to the university to shower and finally get out of our clothes. We toured the whole capital in our cycling shorts and jerseys. A few of us went out to dinner later in the evening and then visited the Oklahoma City bombing Memorial site which was really neat. I'm glad we went saw it. Tomorrow is my driving day and it works out well because it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow. I guess we shall see in the morning Good night all and thanks for reading!!
