by Tess Evans Jun 08, 2004 When we woke up in Ardmore the storm was still hanging over our route so we hung out for a while, did some news interviews and then headed out in the rain. I skidded to a stop at the first stop light and just fell right over, oops. We rode through the Arbuckle Mtns. which weren't so much mountains as they were hills, but it was beautiful. We arrived at the Family Center in Norman (home of UT's rivals, OU sooners) still soaking wet, 60 miles after the rain stopped. The place we stayed in was awesome. A few of us wandered around town for a bit, getting beer and queso at a local pub. Only to head back to the center and go bowling and then use the WHIRLPOOL. Yeah. I know. This morning we had a delicious breakfast at the Wiese's. It was perfect. Afterwards we did karoke, at 10 in the morning, it was ridiculous. We rode out singing all the way. A few miles down the rode Meg, Laura, Martina, and I were pace-lining and someone mentioned that Jerehmiah (a friend of Adriano's who is riding with us for a few days) didn't like girls to pass him; so we were off. When we caught up to him we were at 30mph, for the next 6 miles or so we were cruising at 33, steadily. Of course the awesome tail wind was helping out, but after 6 miles I decided I'd better peel off or I was going to lose the homemade breakfast tacos I'd had for breakfast. But the girls were tearing it up. I'm working on being able to keep up. Now we're in Oklahoma City and had a crazy day involving the capital and Supreme Court and Sun and Ski and a quick visit from Mike on the Sierra Team. They're forecasting rain for tomorrow, I'm hoping they're wrong.
