Soggy Sooner Country

After I left you last night, I met a very nice cancer patient and her family. Gale was her name, and she looked very good. She was all the more happy to have her Grandchild in her lap. She was very interested in our Journey, and said that we would be in her prayers. We reciprocated that fellowship and left with spirits filled with hope and inspiration. I like to think that Gale will think of us while she is recovering and we will fill her spirit with determination.

We got a late start this morning while we waited for the lightning detector at the Y in Ardmore to tell us that it was safe to ride. The morning was soggy, but the Arbuckle mountains were so so beautiful. I saw many places that I wanted to stop and swim and explore, but seeing as we still had 80 miles to go, I held back. This made me think for a second or two that a better way to see the country would be on foot, maybee running like Forrest Gump. But that just cant be right, because their is no way I could have ran up here to Norman in only a week.

I beleive that the total # of flat tires for the day reached upwards of 20. That is a lot, even for a rainy day. But all the hard work has been worth it. The people up here in Oklahoma are at least as friendly and supportive as the people in Texas, and that is saying a lot. But then OU fans have no reason to be mad at us UT students, they have beaten us for the last 4 years in Dallas.
