Day 5

What is there to do in a town of 5,000 people on your day off? Plenty. My day started at 7 AM when Paul woke me up to go to the track and relieve someone else from walking around for the Relay for Life. I got to the track quickly and noticed that Texas 4000 for Cancer was the only group who was still walking!! We finished off the relay strong at 8 AM with Adam, Hogan, Mike, and myself as the only ones walking around the track. The Post Relay for Life did great. The final total that they rose was over $25,000!! After we got back from the relay we went swimming at the local pool and then went to the Post Trading Days, which is a bunch of merchants in different shops selling different things. We got a hamburger lunch donated and had lots of fun walking around and telling the locals what we were doing. The people at the pool invited us to come back later and swim around 9 PM. After a day of resting at the lodge and spreading the word at the Post Trading Days we went back to the pool and swam some more with the local high school kids. The next rest day isn't until Albuquerque but they will be hard pressed to beat the great time that we had in Post.
