by Christopher Liu Jun 15, 2005 Kansas is pretty but the headwinds are terrible, the semi's are terrible, and the feedlots are terrible. I like the country a lot. People here are so much friendlier. So much has been going on these past 2 weeks it has all come togehter into on single blur. Sometimes when i try to think about it....my mind only comes up with a hazy sort of mist that i can't comprehend. We saWe haven't seen mist at all . Might be the Texas weather. I don't know. I haIt'd be klind of interesting riding in fog. Dangerous but fun i guess in a sort of twisted sort of unusual kind of way. If you havne't noticed I am writing this with my eyes closed. I hear people talking int he background. Hats off to Dr. BillLewis for his hospitality. I wisht ere were more people in this world that were this open with their households. Revives my faith in humanity. THere are actually good people out here. THe journey so far ouour final destination seems so far away. Sometimes i wonder if this is real. I don't know....it has only been a week and a half and yetwe are already in Kansas tomoorow we go for colorado. Hpopefully i don't get lost again or blow ou my rear tire for the fifth time. these flats are frustrating. I hate flat. and i hate fixing them in the heat. Today i wasted 2 hours trying to fix a flat. Only to find out that the NEW tube i had was faulty. FAULTY. OF ALL MY LUCk i had to get the FAULTY tube from the bin! There are some driviers onut on the road who should learn a lesson about consideration. Honking is annoying Iat eit when people honk at me. It disorients me and i don't know what for. Wind is terrible it pushes against you. Fighting is fun for about a half an hour but after that, it gets a little old. Need to stretch tonite to race tomorrow i am not going to let colorado slip through my hands. Much thanks to Katie for the care package. I need the extra calories. Mucho Gracias.
