by Marsha Ungchusri Apr 07, 2005 The following directions are to hell: Speedway N L 34th, curves L into 35th, curves L to Mt Bonnell after MoPac R Mt Bonnell, be careful on these downhill turns R 2222 L Mesa L Spicewood Springs L 360 R 2222 R Jester, U-turn at top L 2222 R 360, can repeat 360 many times for endurance U-turn at Las Cimas R Spicewood Springs R Mesa R 2222 L Mt Bonnell L 35th at T, curve R into 34th R Speedway This is Brian's idea of an "advance route". This is my idea of pain, torture, and did I mention pain? But it was fun nonetheless. As the official back end of the group, I've personally dubbed myself "caboose". Because of time limitations we only made it to Jester BLVD and then headed back home on 2222 but took a moment to haul our bikes up the steps to see the breathtaking view of Mt. Bonnell. I've discovered how delicious Cliff bars are and how much I treasure water. I practically half walked Mesa and the backside of Mt. Bonnell, but at least I made it up Mt. Bonnell the first time around. And did I mention I rode with Mike at 7 that same day? Who am I kidding though, it's really time to (in the words of one of the best Food Network Chefs): KICK IT UP ANOTHER NOTCH! PS: Flying down hills are amazing. And the work that got you to the top makes it even more worthwhile.
