by Samuel Kutscha Aug 14, 2010 It was cold today and it got colder. I was freezing until we actually headed out and I had a chance to warm up. The first rest stop was at a diner that served cinnamon buns the size of your face. I enjoyed one with a cup of coffee before heading out. Just out of the first rest stop I enjoyed the best riding of the trip. As I entered the mountains, I realized that I was truly at the end of the journey and cried with joy. The scenery was amazing and mostly downhill, much to my delight. We met up with some parents at rest stops who furnished us with some real food at last. We had to sag a short dangerous section, but I made quick work of the last 20 miles. I arrived at the church first and enjoyed the first shower. Dinner was overwhelmingly good and we all traded signatures afterwords.
