Day 62: Haines Junction to Destruction Bay
by Samuel Kutscha
Aug 14, 2010

The morning was frustrating as not enough breakfast was ready and took a long time to get fed. I had enjoyed my solitary riding from the day before and continued to do so. Before lunch we had the single largest group to ever go swimming in a cold glacial lake. 25 of us in all enjoyed the frigid water.

We stayed in a recreation center in Destruction bay. A semi had crashed with a ton of frozen salmon on board so we enjoyed that for dinner. After we all exchanged white elephant gifts. I received a book of erotic stories that Joel found by the side of the road. Natasha got my wood carving.
