by Samuel Kutscha Aug 13, 2010 We took the lesson of the challenge to heart. Jinyang, Jordan, and I set off at a blistering pace and soon made the first rest stop despite several really long hills. From there the road turned to gravel, crossed a river and began to climb. A bee flew into my helmet and stung me before I could get it off. The next rest stop was badger face painting. We used our zinc oxide sunscreen to paint war paint on each other. I made a skeleton costume with it. We finished the last 20 miles to Mama Zs where we met up with the Dease Lake Riders. I took a hose shower after eating Cheetos and ice cream. A few of us went to the lake and then to a hill top to observe the layout of the town. We all enjoyed a salmon dinner and stayed up with smores to watch the northern lights. We saw a little bit of them at about two in the morning.
