by Samuel Kutscha Aug 13, 2010 We left quickly and I rode with Kristen quite a bit. I saw another bear while separated fr a group. I saw it fr a way off and shouted at it to go away which it oblidged. That makes 6 bear sighting. We ran into the saggers from the Dease Lake Challenge. The were really excited and led us up a 10% grade hill. We ate lunch and did the hill again for fun. Outside of Iskut we ran into another lake and took a refreshing dip. I say refreshing bit the water was so cold it hurt. The colder it is the more refreshed you feel when you get out. We arrived at the lodge and enjoyed a pasta and salad dinner. I did some Internet and helped set up a campfire. Allie and Kelsey told the story of the 210 mile Dease Lake Challenge. It had taken our six riders 18 hours. The whole story really told us that we needed to do more to really experience our ride and not just wait until the end.
