Day 47: Vanderhoofen to Burns Lake

I was very glad to be back on a bike. I gave my bike a bit of a tune up and put some tape on the aero bars for aesthetic balance and a bit of grip. After even more pancakes (we have them nearly every morning), I set off with Brett, John, and Dan at a quick pace. We didn't get very far before Rosie was hit by a car. She had her clavical separated from her shoulder. She is in great spirits but will have to sit out some of the ride. Dan stayed to take car of her while the rest of the group went for a work out.

We kept a 20 mph pace for the first 60 miles. The rest of the ride we finished more sedately. We arrived in Burns Lake and were treated to dinner right away. I got a letter from Grace complete with money. We then separated up for host families. Dan, Brett, John and I went with Heather and her lovely children Stefan and Emily. While I showered, John and Dan went quading and found a bear carcass. They ook a paw to send to Sierras.

I went to bed early and enjoyed an actual matress.
