Reunited/Znowu razem

We're finally reunited. The sunny Sierras and the rockin' Rockies are together, and despite our differences, we're having an amazing time.

When the we, the Sierras arrived to Whitehorse, we actually made it before the Rockies due to forest fires and closed roads. We waited for their arrival nervously and impatiently. We had heard of stories of past years not getting along after the 60 days apart, setting up separate rest stops and not sharing food.

As Rockies rolled up, though, a whole new exciting adventure unfolded.

Until now, the Sierras had been completely focused on service. We tried our best to get to hosts on time. Instead of focusing on our team and our adventure, we woke up early, rushed through rest stops, and then made it to our next location to mingle and share stories with hosts. For me this experience was inspiring and eye opening, since some hosts waited all year just to see us again, while others met us for the first time.

Now, though, we're living t4k Rockies style. Since the Rockies camped for the past six days, if not more, they don't have the time crunch we did. We wake up later (7 or even 8!!) and sit through rest stops much longer. We even get lunch at rest stops now. John cooked us Salmon on the campfire the yesterday, and we showered in a freezing river.

Things are different, and we definitely have some competition. I'm loving every second of it though. I've ridden with at least five new people in the past days and heard many new stories.

We rode through our days of service and now we have some time to reflect on the trip and our team. This includes wild swimming adventures and soaking together in the morning rain.

In the next five days, I probably won't have internet to update the blog, so here's what will happen.

We arrive in ALASKA TOMORROW!!! We are now 19 miles away from the border, 12 ish hours away from the border race, and even less hours away from the two day in a row birthday celebrations. We have two tomorrow and two the next day, so that means pancakes with candles and more.

Pictures will be up after I get to Anchorage. Loving my last few hours in Canada.

Wreszcie jestesmy razem! Sierra grupa spotkala Rockies kilka dni temu w Whitehorse w Kanadzie.

Przedtem mieli osobno obiady i wszystko innaczej robili.

Teraz zostalo nam 19 mil do Alaski 12 godzin do wyscigu ostatniego, i do czterech urodzin! Kupilam dla druzyny jajka i boczek zeby oswiecic urodziny. Przez ostatnie dni jemy dosyc nudne jedzenie bo coraz mniej mamy w naszym samochodzie.

Wloze zdiencia po dojechaniu do Anchorage. Narazie ziesze sie ostatnimi godzinamy w Kanadzie!
