by Jinyang Liang Aug 04, 2010 We decided to ride toward the Junction even though we don't know about the fire situation. Starting from Dease Lake, the sky is not blue any more but is really dusty and gray. Smoke and dust scattered around the air. Sometimes, I can feel the anxiety of the entire forest. No wind; Dease Lake is extremely peaceful, inharmonic with the surrounding. It seems that it is waiting for something to happen but couldn't do anything about it. I rode with Natasha for the first 20 miles but she really suffered from her pain. She told me she would rather suffering the pain on her bike than staying in the van. With a huge sponk, she is an admirable girl!! We arrived at Jade City at about 3pm. John taught me how to cook rainbow trout and salmon! We had a wonderful evening at a lake house. The wet sauna and clean lake washed away dirt as well as my tiredness and anxiety. I hope we can go through the fire tomorrow.
