The rain finally stopped

Today we had our 30 mile timed route. I was a little concerned on how the team was going to perform as a whole, but everybody did an amazing job. The ride started off wonderful because we all had our minds set right with remembering why we are all really there.....the fight against cancer.

This performance makes me happy. We have less than 130 days before our ride starts. The training schedule Paul and I have come up with requires a minimum amount of training that will prepare everyone for the amount of miles we will be doing every day. I hope the whole team goes beyond this minimum and really pushes it.

I am currently putting together our Spring Break Ride. It will be 3 days that will simulate what everyday will be like during the summer. It should be interesting taking on a small physical feat while all of our friends are getting crazy in Cabo or South Padre. I am happy to do so because cancer doesn't take a vacation on Spring Break. I believe we will be biking to Bastrop, around Bastrop, and then back to Austin. It will be yet another bonding experience for the whole team.

On a side not, a fellow teammate and one of our Travel Committee chairs has made her own blog following her journey to Alaska. Her name is Kathryn and her blog is very entertaining and informative. Here is a link to a recent post she made about me:
