Week Ten-Almost There
by Meg Merritt

Can you believe we are almost there? Now that we've been cycling with Sierra for a few days I feel like there are more adventures around every corner. Last night a few people from both teams were playing card games and it was like we'd been together the whole time but with twice the laughs. Because it is light outside until nearly midnight, we are having a hard time remembering it's time to go to sleep and usually hang out until 11 or 12. Then it's light again at 4 am and I have to use my eyemask to try to stay asleep until the wake-up call.

Regarding those patellas: I do what I can. I ride until it's just unbearable (at which point I am cranky for a good half hour), then I have to get in. I did a 93 mile day recently, and I am still paying for it.

I am still reading the Clinton book and dog-eared the page on the deficit because I didn't understand the details. Last night I got Stuart and Galvan on the assignment and they did a great job explaining everything I would need to know regarding the boys at the Fed and helped me understand Reaganomics more thoroughly.

20 miles from the Alaskan border and I can't wait.
