by Basia Borodziewicz Jan 22, 2010 Just to explain - I wrote an entry in Polish since some of my family does not understand English well, and I would like everyone to be able to follow my journey. So a new semester has started and with that more responsibility and more bonding. So much has happened since the beginning of Texas 4000. Last semester, for example, we had training camp where the team rode together for the first time. This made me realize that I not only am passionate about Texas 4000's cause, but I also love bike riding! Ever since I've been wanting to clip back into a road bike, but sadly have had little opportunity. Other than a few occasions, I've been preparing in the gym. Well all that and more is about to change. Next week I finally get my bike so I'll start riding 40 miles or more per week. Another thing that's changing is that we're all struggling to meet our financial deadline. Though raising funds can be tough, there is a positive aspect to this. A lot of members on the team are organizing social fundraisers, so it's a good excuse for all of us to hang out. Finally, it's time for action in terms of travel planning. I'm on the travel committee, so me and several teammates have been calling contacts along the Coast and in Canada to find housing for our trip. In summary, this is getting real. We're leaving in June 2010, and really, that's just around the corner.
