I hope this doesnt spoil things, but I just got back from recording my T4K "video testimonial" that will be put up on my profile eventually. I'm blogging now because I wanted to touch on some things that I didnt get around to mentioning in my video, and I think are worth mentioning here... Especially since I think I can be a little more eloquent when a big shiny lens isn't staring me down.

During my one on one time with the camera (which made me a little nervous... okay, really nervous.), I talked about the progress research has made in treatments and working towards cures, but another one of the other big reasons I believe so much in our cause is because of the emphasis that is placed on cancer prevention. The awareness we raise as we educate others and ourselves on being proactive and reducing the risk of cancer is incredibly important. If we can impact our communities in a way that minimizes the incidence of cancer to begin with, that just brings us one step closer to a world where cancer doesn't stand a chance against any of us.

And for the family members and friends out there that are battling cancer this very moment, I can only hope that the distance, terrain, and weather we'll be taking on will show our commitment to this cause and let them know they can count on all sixty of us rooting for them to make it through.
