by Tess Evans Jul 30, 2004 We arrived into Whitehorse after a tough 109 mile day, and the group I rode in with and I all had to exchange hugs- we could hardly believe we all made it. It rained, even hailed, and the topography made the ride even harder. It was great to have everyone looking out for one another and helping each other through the day. We meet up with the Sierra Team later that night, and everyone was pretty excited. It's a little awkward that we've spent the last 2 months apart doing pretty much the same thing, with totally different experiences, team dynamics and quirks. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to finishing the ride with the two teams together. With so little time left in the trip everyone's thoughts are turning to home, and we're left wondering how we'll fair in reality after all these weeks on the road. I can't wait to get back to Austin and see everyone. So much has happened in the last few weeks, but internet access has been limited, and like taking photos-we've become so preoccupied with what we're doing we forget to record the day-to-day things. We've been camping a lot recently- on lakes- and there have been jaunts in canoes carrying Merriweather's knife to an island, late night swims, beautiful vistas, and wonderfully loud tents.
