by Eric Chen Aug 09, 2009 This morning was crazy! I woke up and found my sleeping pad wet. I fortunately didn't have it as bad as Sheila, Max, & Lance who got their sleeping bags and liners soaked from the rain which had leaked in. In the cold, we rolled up all our bags and stepped outside to more light rain and hustled over to our trailer where we kept our bags for the night. After packing our bags and getting everything together, our team gathered under the single pavilion which sheltered us from the rain for breakfast and ride dedications. Today's dedication really helped to lift my spirits and get my mind in the right state for today's ride. What was a crummy weather day turned out to be one of my most memorable and fun rides all summer. It continued drizzling all day long, and while my feet wore cold and wet, my spirits were high--and that kept me going all through the day. All said and done, I was ready to get into Beaver Creek and all the more excited when I found out that we get warm showers and an indoor facility to sleep in tonight. Tomorrow, we kiss Canada goodbye. Canada, you've been hot, cold, dry, and wet, but beautiful nonetheless. 6 more days on the road until Anchorage. Can't wait to see my family!!! Take care you all. Blessings :).
