Day 60 - Whitehorse Rest Day

With only 10 days left, it’s hard to write long blog entries, so I apologize for my starting to skim these posts. Additionally, internet is few and far between so picture uploads take forever! That said, today was a great day—much like the calm before our final push to the finish. We are united as one team, 44 of us, with one goal in mind—“Anchorage or Bust” to quote the Rockies. I woke up early and got some breakfast at Tim Hortons, did our last official laundry run, and went to Walmart to get some last items to last me my last days (more bug spray and baby wipes in lieu of showers). For lunch, we went out to get pho for probably the last time as a team (we used to get pho at Thaison’s family restaurant during training). In the afternoon, I got a chance to give my bike one last tune up, clean my crank set, and replace my brake pads. Somewhere in the middle of that, Jon and I were asked to conduct a radio interview, so we got to be on a radio show to be aired in the next week at www.ciay.ca – it’s a Christian radio station, check us out! After that, I got to return to tuning up my bike, and afterwards, a few of us headed to dinner at A&W. It was delish—and way too unhealthy. When we got back, it was already 9pm, and I collected my stuff together, getting ready for tomorrow. I’m actually really excited to be riding with the Rockies—even though it will be a 90+ mile day. Time to get some rest! This will very likely be last my last post until I get to Anchorage. So hang tough, thanks for keeping such a close eye on my journey. Please keep our team in your prayers—for safety and for encouragement to others. It will be a tough last 10 days, but we’ve come this far, and I don’t doubt the ability of my teammates, nor of God whom I draw all my strength from. Thanks again—take care, and God bless.
