After a great ride dedication with the folks from The Continental Divide Lodge, we got on the smokey road around 9am. All the forest fires in the area produce a lot of smoke, making the sky foggy and sad. In addition, the dense clouds around us make it harder to breathe on the bike. The combination of hills, smoke, bugs, and rain made our ride kind of miserable, but the team got through it in good spirits.
Right before arriving to our campsite, we had to cross over a long steel bridge over a river. The bridge was very slippery due to the rain and we unfortunately had some riders take a spill. Luckily everyone is all right. The anticipation to meet up with the Sierras is building up. We have been thinking a lot about them and wondering how they are doing. I am curious to see how they run their team and how things are going to work once we are all together. We will get to see them tomorrow night and only time will tell…
