by Julian Jones Jul 29, 2009 Day 52: To Williams Lake, BC These past couple of days have taken a toll on all of us. The heat's tinged a bit of us, even more sore legs, but we all have determined spirits. Waking up at 7 today was one of the best things that we could have done. We had a breakfast of oatmeal, then we prepared to take off. We unexpectatly met Sarina, a girl who had just finished dealing with cancer. Her father was a person you could tell had the strength of life in him. One of his legs was artificial, but his heart was one the most real i've met. While we were leaving, his said "There as so many times we don't take the chance to just look someone in the eyes and say thank you with all your heart. I want to say thanks from the bottom of my heart. You're making a difference" With that, our journey began. I'm not gonna lie, I felt weak and frustrated today. 4 flats, and just feeling weak and a bit drowsey throught. I was thankful for Eric and Steven fro being so kind and putting up with it. We're staying at a stadium tonight, with showers and bathrooms. The 711 dontated slurpees to a few of us, ony if we would donate $1.50 to Texas 4000. Bryn decided it would be a good idea to wake up Michael with a cold slurpee :) McDonalds also donated free extra value meals to us. We also hit up the A&W, where we had some root beer, and got to be on the internet for a quite a while to finish up some blogs. A pretty intense game of soccer went on at the arena as well.
