by Zaid Hassan Jul 14, 2009 I have changed quite a bit in the past few weeks -- growing beard, questionable-but-welcomed weight gain (!), newfound appreciation for knees, dependance on a diary, and so on. Most of these and many other changes have thereby compelled me to view, review, and renew a lot of my positions, perspectives, and approaches. And whereas I have normally taken comfort in putting a lot of thought in something like a blog entry, I am also beginning to learn the importance of not just discipline and calculation, but also to give some chance to impulses and ongoing musings! Thereby this entry. And all due credit to folks here in Florence, Oregon for compelling me to take action herein again and share some of my most recent experiences. Nothing excites me more than to formally announce the addition of Grandma Connie* to my family! Just had the wonderful opportunity to meet her earlier today here in Florence, and it couldn't have been more special. Not only did Grandma Connie immediately become my new Grandma, but she was super cool -- to the extent that she had two 4-gigabyte hard drives in her purse, and in general emanated sheer warmth and love, just like everyone else here in Florence. I stand in complete recognition of my shortcomings, specifically in the blogging arena, but it is exceptional days like today that compel all of us here to go above and beyond. Notwithstanding, I surely haven't forgotten about Clovis, Albuquerque, Farmington, Page, Manteca, San Francisco, Eureka, Bandon, and so many other places that have reached out extraordinarily and continue to amaze us all every day. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you. __________ * With Grandma Connie!
