by Eric Chen Jul 11, 2009 "It is well, it is well with my soul" This morning we gathered for a big team breakfast. Steve is truly amazing. Silvia also brought over some amazing homemade hot cocoa. We will sincerely miss these folks and I hope I can visit them again soon. The ride today was pretty relaxing and peaceful. We rolled through the along the coast, at first guided by Dustin, a 2004 rider (of the founding class) who took us along the beautiful coast and showed us the sea lions/seals laying out on the rocks. That was a fun sight to see. I spent a large portion of today's ride by myself and able to think and pray by myself as well. I thought about what it'd be like to have a death sentence and how that would change my life or how I'd spend my last however many days. I think I still need to reflect and think about how I would spend these days or weeks. I got to think some more about Esther, and how I never really got to meet her, but strangely I miss her--she was our age, my classmate, my sister in Christ--a strong girl. I meditated that indeed the Lord gives and takes away. I finished the ride in two separate segments: with Joel, then with Steven. We got into Klamath, which is run by the Yurok Tribe at about 5:00pm and were hungry for some dinner! We got to the Forest Cafe, the local diner, and they offered us 50% off of anythign in the cafe so we got to eat our hearts out! Tonight we will get some good rest. I'm falling asleep just writing this. Crawling into bed and blogging isn't such a good idea. Tomorrow is day 35 and we are half way there! Oregon here we come!!! Seals!
You can see Zaid pointing out road hazards up ahead... he's really good about that.
