Day Off

I am in love with Prince George on my day off. I slept in the 'tomb' (the basement of Wendy and Rich's house) till 10am when Brandon woke me up. Sleeping this late is really a treat up here because the sun comes up at 4am, and when I am out camping, I don't sleep much past then. Walking up the stairs I really awoke to the smells of breakfast. After my fill, Rich drove Brynn, Brandon and I around the city of Prince George giving us a tour of all the city has to offer. Wendy took us for a walk along the Nechako River where we discovered Sascatoon berries, the berries of the bears. We returned to the car with purple hands and tounges. I got a pic of PG, the towns giant log-man mascot, at the local tourist info center. The good people who work at Canadian info centers (and Chamber of Commerces) are the most enthusiastic and informative people ever. They helped us get some much needed info about the Stuart-Cassiar route that we will be taking North through B.C. After lunch back at the house, Brandon headed out to clean the van while Brynn fell asleep in teh 'tomb' and I am taking it easy writing in my journal. We are getting ready for an afternoon at the lake where we will make a sascatoon berry pie, soak in a hot tub, and keep our eyes open for Moose.
