by Eric Chen Jul 10, 2009 Today I sagged, apparently yet another tough day. The ride was not unbearably long, but the headwinds and climbs from what I could tell from the car were tough as nails. Nevertheless, the scenery from today’s ride was absolutely gorgeous!!! They finally had the opportunity to bike along the coast, and I am so sad that I missed out on that. I also wish I could have ridden with my teammates as they conquered such a physically trying day. But our sag team definitely did our best to secure donations along the way. Sheila went above and beyond to secure donations even when I myself was tired. As a result, we secured a bowl of salad, a pan of Javi’s special pasta, many loaves of sourdough, 5 XL pizzas, and a spaghetti dinner freshly catered by the vice mayor and her family upon arriving to Point Arena. This all from no dinner plans whatsoever! As for team connection, I think our honeymoon phase is waning and now we are really learning to support and build eachother up—at least that’s how it seems from my perspective. United we ride. Until next time...
