by Ryan Amos Jun 03, 2004 The first three days are over. We're all exhausted; pretty much all we do is ride, eat and sleep. Tonight we're staying in Sweetwater, TX with members of the Church of Christ. They've been extremely hospitable, as have the folks in Coleman and Llano. The generosity of the people along the way has really surprised me. It's really nice to have an air conditioned place to rest after a hundred miles of riding. The first two days were hot, hot and hot. It was about 120 degrees on the asphalt and we were really sweating it the entire way. No major complications though, which is thankful. Today was a bit different; about halfway through the ride we had to stop in Winters when a huge rainstorm rolled through and soaked everything. We got really wet for about 30 miles, and it was pretty cold. After that the ride was beautiful though. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow if I can find an internet cafe or some place with broadband internet access. I'd love to write more, but it's getting late and we have to wake up at 5:30 am tomorrow. Take care everyone!
