Day 48--Prince George BC

I forget where i last left off.

I'll begin by telling about the Columbia Icefields in Jasper NP. Mike West(a fellow adventure buddy--no fear) and I took a stroll along the touristy part of the glacier. We were standing at the edge of the "no trespassing" part when we see two guys march on past the cones into the white oblivion. Without speaking Mike and I look at eachother and follow behind. We spent a good hour hiking around this glacier with our new friends to find streams that vanished into huge cravasses and water holes of a beautiful blue--it was great, and we made friends with our fellow adventurers along the way.

It took three days to get from Jasper NP to Prince George. We've been mostly in a hilly vally surrounded by huge hundred year old pines (as well as quite a few bears). Unfortunatly these trees are the main industry in the area and many hills are barren. I am now at David and Susan Stevenson's house. We were all divided up by Richard Thomas (who has never owned a car and who went this past year without riding in an engine powered vehicle!!!) who was awesome enough to put us up for two nights. David and Susan have taught me so much in the past few days---self-sustained lifesyle (especially!!), native flora/fauna, eatable plants, bear safety, good meals to cook. Andy and I also participated in their Quaker meeting this morning.

Tommorow we're off into the wild--so it may be awhile until this journal gets written on again.
