Day 9 - Edmond, OK to Watonga, OK & Day 10 - Watonga, OK to Woodward, OK

Another incredible day!! We started out with some winds against us, but eventually, it was to our backs!

We left, OCU early in the morning to an amazing scene. I watched as the sun rays pierced through the clouds and began lighting up everything around us. The clouds parted and the light shined like a beacon onto us as we departed the parking lot. What a site!

We passed through so much Oklahoma countryside and so many small towns. A blink of the eye and we were through some of those towns. I can tell you now that I have really grown to love small-towns. I think they're awesome!

The scenery, was overall consistent, but we did get a few surprises here and there! A few really tall pretty trees! And amazing clouds scattered all over the sky. We watched as the clouds began to get darker and darker....a storm seemed to be approaching! I had a discussion with Lauren Bissey and she told me about how she LOVED to wear her sun glasses and look at the dark clouds. It makes them look darker and scarier, she claims! I know, she's kind of weird....

That's her:

The clouds started to lighten up as we began to roll the last 10-15 miles into town. upon approaching the church...we saw an AMAZING mural saying "Welcome to Watonga"!!! It was so amazing! We thought we should take a picture with it! And as we were taking pictures, various cars drove by and yelled "Welcome to Watonga!!!' What a warm welcome! We saw people wave to us from local businesses and cars as they drove by.

After arriving at the church, we found out that the Watonga Motel had donated their showers to us. We showered, cleaned up, and went back to the church. I feel like I'm being really repetitive with what I said in my video blog...sooo....I'll just upload it and post pictures:

WATONGA:

THE PUMP OF SHAME!!!

This is something that I created as motivation for people to be prepared for flat tires. If you have a flat and must call a SAG vehicle for help? You must wear the PUMP OF SHAME for the rest of the ride that day.... Doesn't it look spiffy? A Joe Blow, full-sized pump with a tube as a strap to throw over your shoulder.

WOODWARD:

Awesome rest stop set up by Greg and the Susans...

Singing and dancing at the rest stops:

Smoothest road I've been on in my WHOLE LIFE!!! I actually took 3 or 4 photos...but I'll only upload one:

Playing with ponies!
