Day 21

Hello Nevada!! We have been hearing stories for weeks about how there is absolutely nothing in the area of Nevada that we are going through. Now that our first day in Nevada is over I have to disagree with that remark. Someone whizzing through Nevada at 70 mph doesn't notice the beauty around them as well as someone going 15 mph. Each state that we have passed through has had something that has made it unique. The unique thing about Nevada is it's open range. Every other state that we have been in has always had a fence running along the side of the rode letting you know the boundaries of where you can roam. Most of the area that we passed through today had no fences. There was open range for miles and miles. I think that some of us have become so receptive to the environment around us that if you were to drop us in any of the states that we have passed through so far then we could tell you which state we are in. We didn't have anything set up in Caliente so when we finally got there we had a little work to do. We went to the local pool to see if they had showers. They had some, but they also let us go swimming in their pool for free. A few people found a park located close to the middle of town so we called around and found the people who were in charge of it and they agreed to let us camp there. While we were also able to get in touch with a Mormon Preacher who we were referred to by the people in Veyo. He totally surprised us by donating a lot of food for us to cook for supper like hamburger meat and vegetables. Stuart cooked up some of the best hamburgers that I have ever had. After some much needed bike maintenance I decided to call it a night.
