----- Day 4: Winters to Snyder, Texas June 9 After waking up in Winters and cooking the baggy omelets we had prepared the night before, Kay took us back to the community center to meet with the riders who had stayed with other host families. We circled up and did the ride dedication. The 5 other girls and I did a group ride dedication to Kay. Afterwards, we knocked Winters' socks off with our Haka and road out through the Winters arch and on our way to Snyder. I rode to Snyder with Eric, and we enjoyed some really beautiful Texas scenery; it became more hilly and much more windy as the day went on. The wind made the ride tough, but it was worth passing through the world's largest wind farm with miles and miles of giant windmills. In Snyder, (Bryn was beside herself to be sleeping in a town bearing her last name) we were met by the friendliest minister at the Snyder boys and girls club. The boys and girls club provided us with a snack, and the church with dinner, and Pastor Mark got us Snyder's entire supply of gummi bears. We grace a presentation at the church down the road, and then wandered back to the boys and girls club, where we loitered outside enjoying a strange, but beautiful sky-scape. Afterwards, we took care of logistics in a group meeting. Most of the team passed out afterwards, and after a little more trailer packing I joined them in slumberland.
