by Eric Chen Jun 11, 2009 What a day! We woke up at 5am to some awesome bag omelets (mix ingredients into a bag, then mush 3 eggs into it and microwave for 2:30 mins). It was fantastic. I am amazed by the humility of the individuals we've met along th eway. They've been so supportive and loving toward us. Today we had a 90 miler to Snyder, TX. We faced a strong headwind for a brief period but all in all today was quite bearable for me. I got to ride with my teammate Sarah, who just has the biggest heart. When we arrived in Snyder, we were greeted by Pastor Mark, whom I had been in correspondence with along the way. He and his church had donated so many goodies (including "gumis" aka gummies, which became a BIG personal team morale booster). I know I appreciated all of P. Mark and his church's prayers on our behalf (we did make it safely out of Snyder!). We were also greeted with cheese and crackers by Clint of Snyder's Boys and Girls Club, where we ended up staying the night. The welcome with food and donations just hit the spot! Tonight we also had our first program and it went wonderfully--I'm so proud of my team. We also received such a great response from the people in Snyder, even making the local newspaper's front page. These people have been praying for us even as we were riding in today and I was so touched by their hospitality. They shared stories of their loved ones--and know that Texas 4000 will be carrying their stories with us to Alaska. I ought to go rest now, another 90-miler ahead tomorrow! Take care, and God Bless.
