by Thaison Nguyen Apr 17, 2009 In less than 8 hours is our century test... 100 miles. 8 hours. Blood. Sweat. Tears.
I guess you could say that I'm a little bit nervous. Not just for myself, but for the whole team. Three months. 760 miles. Countless hours.
I just can't help but think of all the people that I am riding for. I started out in this organization in honor of my uncle Duong Vuong. It's almost been a year since he's passed. And within that year, I have joined an amazing organization, raised over $3,500 so far for cancer research, met many cancer patients, visited hospitals, and have been touched by so many people. It's amazing how much you can do if you just put your mind to it. It's amazing how much you can do if you're so motivated. 4,888 miles. 70 days. All summer long.
I can't believe that we are leaving on our journey to Alaska in less than 50 days. Today is April 17th. We leave June 5th. That's what? 45 days?? I feel like this following video expresses all of our thoughts so well:
Cancer. I will tell you this. I will FIGHT you. I will fight you with every ounce of energy in my body. I will not rest until you are defeated. I have an army behind me. An army of people who hate you as much as I do. And we are coming for you. You better watch out!
