by Laura Noll Jul 04, 2004 One more day until this years Texas 4000 trip is half way over. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. It's hard to believe we've been on the road this long. Sorry if this is redundant but my short term memory is shot. Today was a long one. I got up at 5:30am to pack the van and rolled in here to Great Falls at 6:45pm. Drive days are always draining so I'll be happy to get on the road tomorrow fo shizzle. Today's ride was a scenic one through a canyon. It rained off and on and the riders well me there was quite a cross wind. We ate Golden Corral for breakfast and Fudruckers for dinner. We are not starving yet. Skip and co. has rejoined us and I get the impression the Sierra team is not having Fudruckers for dinner. We did an "emergency drill" today to simulate a hail storm in the Yukon. Basically we threw all of our junk in a parking lot, crammed into the van, and screamed patriotic jingles as Meg did speedy doughnuts around and around and around until we wanted to die because we had all just eaten a 2000+ calorie dinner. Times are tough. We are currently staying at a dorm WITH SHOWERS (yay). I think it will be our last planned accomodation for a while. We are stocking up on food and gear that will hopefully last us until Calgary... well maybe. I have officially taken over 1000 photos for anyone who cares. They fit onto one 512 mb memory card. I will try and upload at some point but I make no promises. To everyone I've met on the road that has emailed me recently- I am reading and truely appreciate your kind words. Thanks so much and I appologize to those I haven't responded to yet. I'm off to go check out the local fireworks... ~lauzio
