by Rob Secker Jun 25, 2008 First things first: I'd like to thank everyone who have been reading these blogs. I've met so many people in the last few days who say something like "OH! Are you THE Rob? I've been reading your blogs!". It's really nice to know people are interested in our journey. As cliche and silly as it sounds this blog has been like a message in a bottle. I've been typing them everynight and sending them out onto the web not expecting them to be read - but they are being read....sometimes religiously, I hear. Anyway...thats my thank you... Rest days are nice. Unless you're expecting to sleep in and the entire team wakes up at 8 am and clanks around with cereal bowls. I wasn't too happy about that...but what can you do? After the unexpectedly early start to the day we ventured down to Boulder to run some errands. I had to pick up a new cell phone. ***** Funny story: I accidently dropped my phone in a sink and got some soapy stuff on it -nothing I couldn't wipe off with a cloth. But instinctively I reached for the faucet to wash the soap off. I soaked my phone with water completely ruining it. ******* Anyway after an uncomfortably easy phone replacement (he just gave me a new phone...free of charge). We returned to the church and sat around for a few hours. I napped for a little bit. Around 5pm about 10 of us went out to The Cooleys house for dinner. They live in a beautiful mountain-ish neighborhood with a lake. We ate like kings - brisket, beans, coleslaw and chicken. I got a great dip recipe. The Cooleys are simply awesome. Great hosts and people. I might have to come up to Boulder more often. Yeah that sums it up prefectly.... I might have to come up to Boulder more often...
