Day 15

This morning started early at 5 AM as usual. Today we headed out for the first time with no real idea of where we were going to stay. After a short 79 miles we started to set up camp at an intersection a few miles from the town of Shonto. Shonto is in the Navajo Nation. We had barely gotten the tents set up and we had three people stop and ask what we were doing. We got lucky when one of them invited us to stay at the football field in Shonto and use their showers. We had been having troubles with the van all day so we decided to take it into the next big city that we were going to stay in, Page, AZ. We also needed to go to Page so that one of our riders could see a doctor because he wasn't feeling well. I volunteered to go to Page along with another to take care of the van and our sick rider. We got a discounted room at the Days Inn for the night and our rider checked out OK with the doctor. We are going to contact Capps about the van early tomorrow morning. It feels good to be able to sleep in a bed and have a hot shower. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when I get back and can have these things every night.
