by Shawn Walker Oct 30, 2006 The sun has sat high today, drying the pavement, grass and the soggy leaves. There has been a chill in the air, though not frigid, still a chill. I attempted a 20 mile ride today, starting it all off with a section of really big hills. I definitely underestimated them and the first section of the beasts gased me pretty quick. My lingering cold instantly came to the forefront, releasing snot to slide out of my nostrils, accompanied by a vicious cough. I braved on and finished the hill section, all 2.7 miles of it. I leaned against a telephone pole lightheaded and guzzled water, and could feel my muscles tightening under the grip of the cool air. I took a short route home, deciding lightheaded riding would be a bad idea. It is fall here and despite my body's shutdown, the scenery was beautiful and full of vibrant yellows and oranges. Hopefully tomorrow brings nice weather again. I need another chance to ride. shawn
