by Carly Sturdivant Jun 13, 2004 after bread it was back to the camp ground. by the time we got back you could see clouds in the distance with some lightning going off. so what did i do? i went night sailing with a cheney pirate. literally. he has a cateraman (sp?) and had been taking our team out 3 at a time all day. so mike, libby and i made it on the last run. it was dark, but really fun. the team was calling him the wichita pirate, which i didnt understand till i saw the boat. it has a pirate flag off the main sail, and its name is...get this "ARRRRR". i am not totally sure on the number of r's in the name but you get the drift. so we do the boating thing, with lightning off in the background. (prob not the safest thing). but we made it back to shore and all went to bed. i had the idea of sleeping out on a tarp with some of the members. it was nice till that lightning storm hit us. the wind started picking up really hard and there were flashes everywhere. so a few of us decided to bunk up is the yact club (against the rules). after i dropped off my stuff i went back after my shoes. when i had left, no one was up, when i came back all i could see were about 15 little blue head lamps running around like fireflies on speed. the course of action taken was to roll up all the tents with everyones stuff inside it and throw them into the vans and cars. then everyone went to the club and slept on the floor. once again, no tornado.
