Wednesday I completed my century, a narrow three days before our departure. How quickly doth the body heal! A snapped, rotated fibula a month ago, and now I'm blazing down road shoulders at respectable mph's. Such a heaven-sent blessing that we have the health, drive, and vigor to participate in athletic pursuits.

Thank you to Dr. O'Meara in Georgetown, for an incredibly successful surgical procedure.

Also, I want to take the opportunity to apologize to my family and friends. This week - nay, much of this semester - I've been unavailable and/or distracted by T4K matters. Please forgive me.

Oh, wow, so Jeffrey Schwartz and I went to KGSR studios yesterday late morning and were recorded! Surprisingly simple and quick. We got a nickel tour of the building, a set of office suites and sound booths, where KLBJ, 101X, BobFM, 93.7, and other call numbers call home. I could get used to these perks.

Living out of my car these days. Okay, so I have places to shower and sleep, but all my belongings are being toted around in my Camry. I'm proud to say I have one of the smaller duffel bags of the group, filled with necessities. Hope I remembered everything!

A word to Waters: We love you too. I wasn't present for a debate or two, but I know of what you speak in your latest entry. No worries. I suspect that tomorrow (Fri), as we roll out of Austin and begin this crazy trip, a lot of our administrative stresses will melt away, and our energies will be focused so much on cycling, eating, sleeping, keeping one another entertained, etc, that tensions will ease up. I'm looking forward to having you as an on-the-road teammate; you keep people motivated and in smiling spirits.

Schwartz: You're doing and have done an absolutely spectacular job as director of our organization. So glad you are with and leading us. Wish you were on my route though!

To the programs committee (Mione, Krista, Emily, Jason, etc): Fantastic job on the DVD and on developing our presentations! Last night at Mercedes I realized (as I have before) just how hard y'all have worked. Your strong efforts do not go unnoticed.

ATLAS committee has also been working their tight little glutes off as well. Ky, you're amazing. And my angel; but you knew that already. (Butter pecan ice cream, sigh.) Tony, the website looks sooo professional; tip o' the hat to you on that.

Clapsaddle: gracias for your stupendous work on getting our equipment together. You've busted your tail all spring; and when we're sleeping comfortably on our 30-degree bags or feeling stylish in our organic cotton Quatro Mil tees, we have you to thank.

There are lots more shout-outs, but I'll have to write more later. So much going on!

(And yes, this journal has not been very cohesive. Oh well. Gives you an idea of how scatter-brained all of us are at the moment.)
