Biography
I was born and raised in Austin and I can’t think of any other place I would rather live. Although it isn’t uncommon, I was not raised by my biological parents. Fortunately, at very young age, my uncle and his wife took me in their care and did their best to raise me to become a respectful young man. Although the ride wasn’t always smooth, I would not trade it for the world to know that two strangers did something they didn’t have to do by taking care of me. Even though I did not have any role models growing up, I did meet some wonderful people who have changed my life for the better. Their support keeps me going and reminds me that in the end it’s going to be alright, and if it’s not alright, it’s not the end.
Random things about me: I love to play golf more than anything. My favorite color is green and my favorite food is crispy beef tacos. I love to travel and I’m always up to try something new. Family is really important and so is my future because I want to do everything I can to provide a more secure and financially stable life for my future family. I’m really excited to get to know all the wonderful people that I meet while on my journey to Alaska and enjoy my time spent with my team.
Personal Statement
Now I’m no medical professional or scientific researcher, but I do know the horrible impact that cancer has had on thousands of individuals across the globe. Cancer knows no bounds and has the capability of making everyone victims. Over the years we have seen the human race battle against this deadly virus and struggle to maintain a hopeful eye amidst the dark inevitable. Fortunately there have been survivors, but that’s not enough. We need to continue to look for new ways to fight against cancer and support those individuals who it directly affects. I want to be a part of that group of people who set aside their personal lives to dedicate time to fight against cancer by raising money to further cancer research. I want to reach out to those that we meet along the way and remind them that life is worth fighting for.
