My name's Nahil Hamam. I am 19 years old and on the Pre- Med route at UT. I'm a strong believer of activism and I think limits are man made- as cliche as it sounds, the mind is all powerful and anything is possible when you set your mind to it. I want to ride. I need to ride.

To sit back and complain about the atrocities of the world is to sit back and enable them to continue. To ignore this opportunity is to silence all the helpless cries for aid. At age 11 I became an activist. Now at age 19, I want to actively fight cancer. I refuse to sit back and let cancer continue destroying the lives of so many.

Let's show cancer who's boss! Cancer doesn't know what it has coming!

I ride for those who can not. I ride for the trembling voices, the frail bodies but strong souls. I will not sit here and exploit a teacher from my youth, or a distant cousin who fell victim to cancer because I can not sit here and honestly say they had a large impact on my life. But just because I have been more fortunate than most, just because I have not been personally touched by this horrifying illness, does not mean my heart does not cry for those who have been. I ride for those who can not, because I care. I want to take a part in ending it now.
