Biography

I currently study geology at UT. Rocks are cooler than you think.

I grew up as a pretty outgoing and energetic person. I have a great family who have taught me the core principles needed to survive and be a good man, and Im extremely grateful. Giving back and being philanthropic have always been a huge passion of mine, as well as efforts to protect and preserve our environment. Moving to austin for school was the greatest decision of my life. I love the person that I am, and have become, and I try daily to reflect a positive light on anyone that I meet.

When I'm not cycling and training to fight cancer, you'll usually find me outside. Hiking, surfing, and exercising are some of my favorite things to do. When I graduate, I plan on attending a masters institution for environmental geology.

Personal Statement
Personally, there are several people I would like to dedicate my ride too. I ride for Nadine Ortiz, a loving grandmother and amazing woman who left behind four sons and a daughter. I ride for Mary Eigen, an incredible woman and dear family friend who lost her battle with ovarian cancer. I ride for Donna Stewart, a breast cancer survivor, one of the nicest people i have ever met and mother to one of my best friends. And I ride for Carol Gore, also a breast cancer survivor, who has been there for my family through everything, and is the strongest and most loving woman i have ever had the honor of knowing.

I also ride for those voices unheard. The ones struggling, overcoming odds, and fighting for their lives with this horrible disease. Cancer to me, is a disease that is persistent and extremely serious, however, seeing rides like this, and the American Cancer Society’s campaign of “the sponsor of birthdays”, sends a huge beacon of hope that is close to outshining the light of cancer, and the thought of a cancer free world is very liberating. Now it is my chance to truly make a difference, and this ride is an incredible thing.
