2017 Volunteered at Ronald McDonald House Charity

My teammates and I had an opportunity to volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) of Central Texas annual Bandana Ball event. This was our first year volunteering at Bandana Ball and RMHC’s 28th ball.

One of the routes my teammates and I train on goes south of Austin to Buda. The venue for Bandana Ball, Wild Onion Ranch, was right on this route. It was surreal to be traveling in a car out to Buda instead of a bike, but what was even more surprising was this beautiful venue on this route.

When we arrived, we were able to assist with unloading supplies, cleaning the table center pieces, and assembling terrariums. We met other volunteers from around Austin and heard about their involvement with RMHC. It is humbling and incredible to be members of a community that is a champion of so many efforts.

I ride for my grandfather who was a volunteer at RMHC. When I was younger, my grandfather would let me tag along to meet families staying at RMHC. RMHC becomes a home and community to the families staying. I enjoyed this opportunity to help an event that is so critical to the continued success of RMHC in Austin.
